Neil Etheridge loan to Kaya FC?

Fulham’s Australian goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer tweeted last Sunday:

@1MarkSchwarzer: 6 days to go before I start diving around again! I can’t wait:)

When Schwarzer returns, it will be expected he’ll be back to #1 GK again and David Stockdale will be behind him as backup, making Neil Etheridge back to #3 GK. This would mean he will be more available for international duty. A little good news, I should say.

Speaking of that, Kaya FC & UFL Chairman Santi Araneta will fly off to London for an official business trip on Friday, 20 January. On the trip is to meet Neil Etheridge there during Fulham’s home game against Newcastle. They have been exchanging messages on Twitter, which have been inciting rumours around the Twitter world of a possible off-season loan to Kaya FC. Many have been speculating of it since Neil has been planning to take a vacation stay in the Philippines during the Premiership off-season, which starts around May. Neil will also be training with the team during that time in preparation for the FIFA match dates in June, which will be tune-ups for the upcoming 2012 Suzuki Cup in December.

Will Santi be able to entice Neil Etheridge to play for a Philippine club team even it’s just for a short time? If ever the deal has been sealed, will this be the year’s biggest story in Philippine football? Let’s find out as this story develops.

Keeping fingers crossed.
