March 2: Triple Azkals Birthday Bash!
Mark your calendars on March 2, as we have a surprise for three of our very dearest Azkals players. As some of them leave for Nepal for the 2012 AFC Challenge Cup and some continue with the club duties, we’ll greet these three guys a very happy birthday!
Since we want to surprise you, we give you some clues on who these three players are:
Azkal #1: This man is from the Philippines’ football haven, Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo. He has been with the national team since the early 2000s, and is already regarded as a veteran player. He plays as a striker and made his first international hat-trick (three consecutive goals in a single fixture) during a match against the Macau national team in 2010 during the Long Teng Cup held in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. He is an enlisted member of the Philippine Air Force and plays for Air Force Phoenix in the UFL. In addition, he is already a father to a 5 year-old son, who is also interested with playing football.
Azkal #2: This lad hails from the city of Cologne in Germany. He came in for the national team since the 2011 Long Teng Cup. He plays as a goalkeeper and has been doing an exceptional performance for the seniors during the Long Teng Cup, and for the Under-23 team during the 2011 Southeast Asian Games in Indonesia. He plays for MSV Duisburg, a club in the 2.Bundesliga, Germany’s second-tier national league. His Filipina mom comes with him whenever he goes to the Philippines, and is very proud of her son to play for her country’s team.
Azkal #3: This young man comes from Darmstadt, a town in west central Gemany. He has been with the national team training pool since the 2010 Suzuki Cup. He featured for the Under-23 national team for the 2011 Southeast Asian Games in Indonesia, and has done an exceptional performance as an attacking midfielder. He plays for SV Darmstadt 98 II, a lower-tier club in Germany.
I know you are familiar with these guys, so on March 2, let’s greet these boys a Happy Birthday!
